About the role
As an Infrastructure Engineer focused on Browser Runtime, you will be responsible for scaling and optimizing the underlying fleet of headless browsers that power the world's most sophisticated AI agents. You will tackle unique challenges in high-density container orchestration, sub-second cold starts, and low-latency streaming for millions of concurrent sessions. Your work will directly enable AI developers to automate the web reliably at a massive scale by ensuring our sandboxed browser environments are performant, undetectable, and resilient.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain a globally distributed fleet of headless browsers capable of supporting millions of monthly sessions.
- Optimize container startup times and resource allocation to achieve sub-second latency for AI agent requests.
- Build and maintain custom Kubernetes operators to manage the lifecycle and networking of ephemeral browser pods.
- Implement robust anti-fingerprinting and proxy rotation strategies to ensure reliable web navigation for automated agents.
- Develop performance benchmarking suites to identify bottlenecks in the Chromium rendering pipeline under high load.
- Collaborate with the Product team to expose new browser-level primitives and observability features to our API users.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure the high availability of our critical automation infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, or Systems Engineering at a high-growth startup.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes (K8s) internals, including custom controllers, CRDs, and resource scheduling.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale Linux fleets and high-performance container networking (e.g., eBPF, Cilium).
- Strong proficiency in Go or Rust for building high-performance backend systems and tooling.
- Experience with Chromium/Playwright/Puppeteer internals or managing large-scale browser-based workloads.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Pulumi) and cloud-native observability (Prometheus/Grafana).
- Academic background in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent self-taught experience.
